On Imperialism in International Relations
Join us for a lecture by Professor Farid Al-Salim, who will explore the role of modern global governance structures and international systems in effectively preventing, or intensifying, imperialistic approaches. Professor Farid will discuss the development of global imperialism and its varying forms while taking into consideration regional and global power dynamics, colonial legacies, and questions of hegemony in the 21st century. What is required to meaningfully decolonize international relations in the future?
The lecture occurs as part of the first volume of Fiker Institute’s Public Lecture Series, “Diplomacy, Power, & Globalization.” It will be open to the public, with registration at the entrance.
