On Decolonizing International Development
Join us for a lecture by Rana Tomaira, who will explore international developmental policies and practices, and examine how the field operates through both regional and global institutions. The lecture will focus on what constitutes ‘international development’ as a practice, and who decides what priorities are pushed forward or prioritized. Rana will also share her insights on what recent multilateral decisions could contribute to decolonizing the field as a whole.
The lecture occurs as part of the first volume of Fiker Institute’s Public Lecture Series, “Diplomacy, Power, & Globalization.” It will be open to the public, with registration at the entrance.
